EL FUTURO AQUÍ
What to expect
A shared journey built around football, storytelling, and community.
In Medellín, we use the street as our field to bring young people together, create connection, and give space to stories that deserve to be heard—through sport, creativity, and presence.
❋ Documentary About Why We Do What We Do
At the heart of this project is a documentary that follows Yasser (Nowruz) and Yino (Niños del Futuro). Through conversation and reflection, the film explores their personal journeys, the choices they made, and why they dedicate their lives to creating space, perspective, and opportunity for young people—each from their own background, but driven by the same purpose.
The project includes a three-day street football tournament in Medellín, bringing together teams from different neighborhoods alongside Nowruz. Football acts as a universal language—creating connection, energy, and a shared moment where young people meet, compete, and belong.
❋ A Large Street Football Tournament
❋ Fundraiser for Camilla and Girls’ Football
Together with Make A Kid Happy, we launch a fundraiser to support Camilla, a young girl with a football dream, and the local girls’ football team. The funds directly contribute to their development, access to sport, and long-term opportunities—turning belief into concrete support.
❋ A Community Moment That Goes Beyond the Game
Beyond the matches and the film, this project is about being present. Through music, food, shared space, and conversation—including moments like the barber’s chair at the sidelines—we create a setting where stories surface naturally and the community comes together as one.
about yino diaz
Yino Diaz is the founder of the project Niños del Futuro. He grew up in the Netherlands and was exposed to various social challenges from a young age. He left school early, went through multiple guidance programs, and moved out at a young age. Having to stand on his own early in life led to school dropout and spending a lot of time on the streets.
Life on the streets eventually led him down the wrong path, with all the consequences that came with it. These experiences, however, shaped him into the person he is today. Drawing from these life lessons, he founded Niños del Futuro with the aim of sharing his experiences with young people who find themselves in similar situations.
Within the project, there is a reciprocal relationship: Yino supports young people with his knowledge and experience, while the youth, in turn, offer him new perspectives and contribute to his personal growth and healing process. It is an exchange built on trust, growth, and mutual respect.
Niños del Futuro has since grown into a well-known and respected organization in Medellín, supported and embraced by the local community.
